Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective October 21, 2026 · Last updated October 21, 2026
This policy describes the consumer health data that The Sea Labs LLC collects through the Chompionapp, as required by Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar state laws. It supplements our Chompion Privacy Policy, which covers all the information we handle.
Consumer health data we collect
- Body information: sex used for calorie estimation, birth date, height, current and target weight, and weigh-ins.
- Health check flags: whether you have diabetes, whether you take medication that can cause low blood sugar, and whether you have another condition without a prescribed diet. Answers that mean Chompioncan’t support you are never stored.
- Meals: meal photos and descriptions, the AI analysis of them (foods, portions, and nutrition estimates), your corrections, and Better Plate images made for you.
- Goals and diet: your weight goal, activity level, strength training, diet style, allergies, intolerances, and the nutrition targets calculated from them.
- Information derived from the above: daily nutrition totals, weight trend, recommendations, and weekly insights.
Why we collect it and how we use it
Only to provide Chompionto you: to calculate your targets, keep recommendations within safety rules, analyze your meals, show how they fit your day, create Better Plates you ask for, track your weight trend, and send the reminders you choose. We do not sell consumer health data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models unless you turn on “Help improve meal recognition,” which is off by default.
Where it comes from
- You, when you set up your plan, log meals, weigh in, or change settings.
- Our AI analysis of the meal photos and descriptions you provide.
- Our calculations from that information (targets, totals, trends, insights).
Consumer health data we share, and with whom
We share consumer health data only with service providers that process it on our behalf, under contract, to run Chompion:
- Cloud hosting and storage (Google Cloud and Firebase): all of the categories above, stored in the United States.
- AI processing (Google Cloud Vertex AI): meal photos, descriptions, and corrections, with your diet restrictions where needed to create a Better Plate.
- Push notifications (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service): the text of reminders you choose to receive, which may mention a meal or a weekly insight.
Usage analytics (PostHog) and crash reports (Sentry) are set up so that they don’t receive consumer health data: no meal contents, photos, goals, health answers, or weight. We have no affiliates that receive consumer health data. We disclose information when the law requires it.

- Confirm and access:see your data in the app, or download all of it from Settings → Export my data. Ask us for the list of third parties that received it.
- Withdraw consent:Settings → Health data consent → Withdraw consent. We stop collecting consumer health data: no new meals, analyses, or weigh-ins. What you already logged stays until you delete it, and you can give consent again anytime.
- Delete:Settings → Delete account deletes your consumer health data right away, and we tell our service providers to delete their copies. Backups are overwritten within the time the law allows.
- Turn off optional uses:“Help improve meal recognition” and “Share usage analytics” in Settings.
