Handful of Minutes

Privacy Policy

Effective September 13, 2026 · Last updated October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Sea Labs LLC (“The Sea Labs,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Handful of Minutes mobile app. Handful of Minutes suggests a small, age-appropriate activity for your child each day.

The short version. You sign in with Apple or Google. We store an account id (and the email, plus your name if you use Google, when your provider gives us them) so your subscription can follow you. Your child’s birth month, favorites, and activity history stay on your device until you delete your account or uninstall. Subscriptions are billed by Apple. You can delete your account in Settings.

Who we are

Handful of Minutes is operated by The Sea Labs LLC. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@thesealabs.com.

Information we collect

Account (Sign in with Apple or Google)

To use Handful of Minutes you sign in with either Sign in with Apple or Google. We use a cloud authentication service to manage that account. From whichever provider you choose we may receive an email address and a stable account identifier. If you use Google, we also receive the name on your Google account, which is stored with your account. If you use Sign in with Apple, that email may be a private relay address; Apple may share your name the first time you authorize the app, but we do not keep it.

You may connect both providers to one account from Settings, so you can sign in either way. If you do, we store the identifier from each provider against the same account. We do not use either provider to post anything on your behalf or to read your contacts, calendar, or files.

Subscription entitlement

After you subscribe, we store subscription status on our servers (product id, Apple original transaction id, status, and expiry) keyed to your account id so access works across your devices. We never receive your payment card details.

If you reinstall the app, it can check the App Store purchase already on your device and remind you which sign-in method your subscription is attached to, so you do not start a second account by mistake. That check tells you only the sign-in method, never an email address.

On your device

The app stores a child birth month (used to pick age-appropriate activities), plus your favorites, daily activity history, and a cached copy of the activity catalog in a local database on your phone.

Usage analytics

When analytics are enabled, we use a product analytics service to understand how the app is used and to improve it. Events may include app opens, activity interactions, subscribe or restore outcomes, activity title and category, the child’s age in months(not their birthday), and app version. Events do not include your child’s name or the birth month you entered.

Crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, it sends a crash report to our crash-reporting service so we can fix the problem. A report contains technical details: what went wrong in the code, the screens and taps just before it, app version, device model, and operating system version. Crash reports are not linked to your account id or email and do not include your child’s birth month or any activity content.

Content updates

The app may download an updated activity catalog from our content host. That request is used only to refresh activities.

How we use information

  • To authenticate you and keep your subscription entitlement in sync.
  • To suggest an age-appropriate daily activity on your device.
  • To remember favorites and history locally on your device.
  • To understand usage patterns and improve the product.
  • To find and fix crashes.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Limited data is processed by service providers we rely on to run Handful of Minutes:

  • Apple— Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions.
  • Google— Google sign-in, and the authentication, database, and serverless hosting (Firebase and Google Cloud) that store your account details (identifier, email, and name where provided) and subscription entitlement.
  • Product analytics providers— anonymous or pseudonymous usage analytics as described above.
  • Crash reporting providers— crash and error reports as described above.
  • Content hosting providers— delivery of the activity catalog.

Data retention

  • Account and entitlement: kept while your account exists; deleted when you use Delete account (and related store records remain with Apple).
  • On-device data: kept on your device while you use the app; cleared when you use Delete account, or when you uninstall / clear app data.
  • Analytics: retained according to our analytics provider settings and ordinary product-analytics practices.
  • Crash reports: deleted automatically by our crash-reporting provider, within 90 days.

Your choices

  • Delete account: use Delete account in Settings. This deletes your account and entitlement on our servers and clears on-device profile, favorites, and history.
  • Manage subscription: Apple ID → Subscriptions (billing is with Apple).
  • Contact privacy@thesealabs.com for privacy requests.

Children’s privacy

Handful of Minutes is for parents and caregivers. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Birth month stays on your device unless you delete your account or uninstall. Contact us if you believe we have collected a child’s personal information improperly.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes we will provide notice in the app when practical.
